A descendent to one of the most iconic vocalists to ever live, 12-year-old Lauren Marie Presley proves talent does indeed run in the family. While forty years have come and gone since the world was rocked by the devastating news that the great Elvis Presley had tragically lost his life, the talented young singer brings the magic of The King back to life with her jaw-dropping rendition of Sara Evans‘ “A Little Bit Stronger”.

Apart of the 2013 singing competition drama, Chasing Nashville, Lauren Marie stepped into the recording booth for her captivating performance of the 2011 smash hit. The extremely young singer demonstrates she is a force to be reckoned with, showing off her heart-stopping vocal skills that will leave you in disbelief she is only 12 years old.

“I’m done thinking, that you could ever change/ I know my heart will never be the same but I’m telling myself I’ll be okay,” sings Lauren Marie passionately. “Even on my weakest days, I get a little bit stronger.”
Lauren Marie – whose father is a distant cousin to Elvis – is currently following in the footsteps of her famous relative in pursuit of her own star-studded Nashville dreams. The young singer appeared on Lifetime’s competition series, Chasing Nashville, back in 2013 where she competed alongside three other teenage vocalists from the Appalachia area. The four singers with equally competitive families laid everything on the line in pursuit of realizing their country radio dreams. While the show may not have been a success, it introduced us to the vocal talent that is Lauren Marie.

“A Little Bit Stronger” was co-written by Lady Antebellum‘s Hillary Scott and recorded by Evans in 2010. In addition, the song was also recorded by actress Leighton Meester for the 2010 film Country Strong. “A Little Bit Stronger” was featured on the film’s soundtrack and released as the second single in 2011. Evans’ version of the song was highly well-received, going on to soar the charts to No.1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs as well as No.34 on the all genre Hot 100.

The country ballad tells the story of a woman pulled down by intense sadness after being burned by a former lover and the difficulty she has pulling herself out of it. Slowly, day by day, she begins to discover she’s becoming “a little bit stronger.”
