'Voice' coaches recorded stripped-down version of TLC's 1994 ballad
The Voice Season 12 coaches Alicia Keys, Adam Levine, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton united for an acoustic, live version of TLC's hit 1994 ballad, "Waterfalls." In the video, the musicians trade off lead vocals on the verses and build a massive wall of chorus harmonies.
Levine and Shelton played acoustic guitar with Keys on Rhodes piano and guest performers on acoustic bass and cajón. Keys and Stefani split up Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes' rapped verse. Levine added emphatic shouts and falsetto ad-libs. "I love that," the Maroon 5 singer shouted after the performance. "That was it. Whatever that was, that was awesome. That's how you sing, America!"
